Welcome to the Central Illinois Chapter of FHNB

Fishing Has No Boundaries®, Inc. (FHNB) is a non-profit 501-C3 organization whose goal is to open up the great outdoors for people with disabilities through the world of fishing. Our Chapter was founded in 2012 by Bryan Zowin of Dunlap, IL. He and his board members had a vision of  opening up the great outdoors to people with disabilities through education, training and  adaptive equipment.

Most of us think that going fishing is as easy as a walk down to a lake, however for over 56 million Americans with disabilities, it’s just not that easy. That is why we hold this event– to allow local physically or mentally disabled Central Illinois residents the opportunity to enjoy a day of fishing.

This Year’s Event

This year we hold our first annual FHNB event at Camp Big Sky. The date of the event is June 8, 2013 (rain date of June 9, 2013).  A Fishing Has No Boundaries event is truly an unforgettable way to spend a day on or near the lake with a friend or family member.  This event promotes enjoying the great outdoors and sharing in the thrill of catching that “big one” together.

We believe through education, training, and the use of adaptive angling equipment, everyone is able to share in a dream come true. Adaptive angling equipment such as pole holders, different kinds of electric reels – joy stick or chin operating, ramp systems to gain access to boats, wider pontoon boat doorways, reel grippers, and many other assistance angling tools has brought two very different worlds together to learn as a unified team from each other by sharing the same passion and dreams.
